Design and implementation of interdisciplinary project-based learning in primary English under the new curriculum and textbooks

摘要

“双新”背景下,素养导向、学科实践与课程综合化成为小学英语教学改革的核心要求。针对传统小学英语教学存在语言学习与实际应用脱节、学科边界固化、学习趣味性不足、学生两极分化等问题,本研究以上海小学一年级英语“Toys I like”单元为实践载体,开展英语与双语科学跨学科项目化学习探索。研究依托项目化学习与学科融合理论,构建语言、知识、能力、跨学科四维目标,以“利用闲置材料制作玩具并向外国小朋友介绍”为驱动性问题,通过英语与双语科学四课时联动教学、分层实践任务、爱心义卖成果展示,搭配多元过程性评价体系,实现学科知识深度融合与学生综合能力协同发展。实践表明,该模式有效提升了学生英语语用能力、科学探究思维、动手协作能力与社会责任意识。同时,研究针对实践中出现的时间分配、制作指导、展示效果等问题提出改进策略,为“双新”背景下小学英语跨学科项目化学习的设计与实施提供可借鉴的实践路径。

Abstract

Under the new curriculum and textbooks, literacy orientation, subject practice and integrated curriculum have become the core requirements of primary school English teaching reform. To solve the problems in traditional teaching, this study takes the “Toys I like” as a practical carrier to explore interdisciplinary project based learning combining English and bilingual science. Based on theories of project based learning and subject integration, the research constructs four dimensional objectives: language, knowledge, ability and interdisciplinary competence. It takes “making toys from recycled materials and introducing them in English to foreign children” as the driving question. Through layered tasks, a charity sale for outcome display, and a diversified process evaluation system, it realizes the deep integration of subject knowledge and the coordinated development of students’ comprehensive abilities. Practice shows that this model effectively improves students’ English application ability, scientific inquiry thinking, hands on and cooperative skills, and sense of social responsibility. The study also puts forward improvement strategies for problems, providing a practical reference for the design and implementation of interdisciplinary project based English learning in primary school.
