伴随着社会经济的发展，我国正从制造大国向制造强国迈进，但与部分西方国家相比，我国技术并不成熟，要实现制造强国之路离不开技能型人才作为支撑，高职学校是技能型人才培养的摇篮，是向社会输出技术人员的场所，在我国教育体系当中占据着非常重要的地位。近年来，高职教育技能大赛引起人们的广泛关注，以技能大赛的形式向社会选拔出一批批技术过硬，素质过硬的技能型人才。高职技能大赛发展堪称高职教育之盛事，其发展推动了职业教育的大力发展和向大国工匠目标迈进。高职技能大赛既能提升学生精湛技能又能养成优良品格。
